The Securities department is generally responsible for the management of the Corporation’s publicly listed proprietary share portfolio with the goal of maximizing returns on the portfolio for the Corporation. Management of these shares include the takeover (i.e. assuming controlling ownership of shares forfeited to the Corporation by Obligors), trading (i.e bulk sales through the exchange) and monitoring of these shares. Other responsibilities include supervising activities of third-party service providers such as Asset Managers, Registrars, Custodians and Brokers; liaising with various stakeholders such as the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), Central Securities Clearing System Limited (CSCS) and other agencies on matters relating to the Corporation’s share portfolio; and Conducting investment appraisals and valuation of both quoted and unquoted shares in our portfolio.
