Corporate Communications Department

Corporate Communications Department is responsible for reputation building and management of Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) through the use of marketing communication tools, resources and services such as public relations, stakeholder engagements, media relations, branding, advertising, events management, promotions, crises management, internal communication, corporate and government relations among others. 

 
The department, which is under the directorate of the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation plans and executes strategic approach to effective communications through programmes and activities that suit AMCON as a peculiar agency of the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; established by the AMCON Act of 2010, as a special purpose statutory corporation for resolving the issue of Non-Performing Loans (NPLs) in the Nigerian banking industry.
 
Since inception and guided by a deep understanding of our key stakeholders such as the Federal Government of Nigeria (The Presidency - Executive, Legislature and  Judiciary); Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the National Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC), Board, Management and Staff, vendors and suppliers, banks, bank loan defaulters or obligors, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), Directorate of the Secret Service (DSS), the Judiciary and Nigerians in general, our strategy is planned and implemented to achieve public understanding and acceptance.
 
We therefore, make deliberate efforts to change misconstrued perceptions about the modus operandi of the Corporation; educate, inform and sensitise the different publics (stakeholders) about AMCON functions, activities and processes that enables our stakeholders understand the role of AMCON, gain their buy-in as well as goodwill. Over the years, we have succeeded to build, increase and sustain positive public understanding and acceptance of AMCON and its mandate as a resolution vehicle of government, which came as a key stabilizing and re-vitalizing tool to revive the financial system in the country.
 
KEY UNITS
The department is headed by Jude Nwauzor and is divided into different units and functions to ensure maximum efficiency. These functions are:
