About AMCON Disposal

AMCON was created for the purpose of efficiently resolving the Non-Performing Loan (NPL) assets of banks in Nigeria; and for related matters. By virtue of the AMCON Act 2010 enacted by the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Corporation is empowered to dispose of managed assets for the purpose of fulfilling its functions and objects.

Managed assets become available for disposal during the course of NPL resolution, as a result of successful NPL resolution and as an outcome of effective asset management. The assets are largely a result of non-cash settlements by obligors and in some cases are due to foreclosures on NPL’s.

This website lists the assets the Corporation currently has available for disposal. In disposing of assets via our competitive bidding process, the Corporation shall ensure that at all times the disposal of managed assets is conducted:

In accordance with an asset management plan prepared and approved by the Board of Directors of the Corporation for each class of managed assets;
At arm’s length and in a commercially reasonable manner;
In a transparent manner;
In a manner that ensures the realization of the long term economic value of such managed assets;
In the best interest of the Corporation; and
In a manner that preserves the orderly conduct of the markets in which such assets are to be disposed.

The classes of assets available for disposal vary, ranging from real estate assets, such as residential and commercial property to specialized assets.
